The proposal presents itself as the headquarters for the institution and acts as the pilot for following interventions or the branches of the bank. As such, the intervention is larger than the subsequent branches. It establishes the design principles and a ‘kit of parts’ and approaches that can suit a variety of sites.
The project builds on the local knowhow and the techniques employed working with concrete and at the same time distances itself from the generic use of these materials. The fabric formwork not only reduces the quantity of materials employed but grants an expressive and distinct character which ties the Xitique interventions together.
