Pedro Valério Vieira BA(hons) Mphil(Cantab), recently completed his Mphil in Architecture and Urban Design (RIBA Part II) at the University of Cambridge.
Pedro’s interest in how people interact with spaces and appropriate their existing environments have led him down multiple avenues. In 2019, Pedro sought to examine how colonial landscapes were inhabited in Maputo, Mozambique. There he observed the spatial confrontation between the ‘formal’ and ‘informal’ which is the subject of Avenida Maputo.
Previously, Pedro worked in Switzerland with Localarchitecture, where he worked on the extension of Steiner (Waldorf) School, built out of timber, through to completion further cementing his love for the building process. Pedro is passionate about research, material, historic and theory as a source of inspiration to inform our built environment. He maintains a wide interest in making, construction and art - and recently has gotten into wood carving.
